MONUMENTS SURVEY *** VOTING HAS ENDED ***
RESIDENTS, the Cinco Ranch Residential Association wants your input. Cinco MUD #12 is considering a project to replace the eight large Cinco Ranch signs (Monuments) near the Grand Parkway intersections with Westheimer Parkway and with Cinco Ranch Blvd. The project will include completion of sidewalks at these intersections and redoing some of the landscaping. The project may also include the addition of two tower monuments on west side of the Grand Parkway in the esplanade near these intersections
Over the past several months the CR developer (Newland Communities), the CR Commercial Association, La Centerra (property manager & developer) have all had input into this project. The CR Residential Association and the Neighborhood Representatives Committee (NRC) recently become aware of the project and has created a Working Group to gather input from the Residential community prior to any final plan being implemented.
The CR Residential Association and the NRC have taken no position regarding the proposal, nor should we until the Residents are informed and have the opportunity to provide input. However, proponents of the new Monuments and Towers point out that the new monuments and other improvements would increase the attractiveness of the intersection, and hopefully generate new business which would provide additional tax revenues that would benefit other community improvement projects while those opposing say that the existing monuments have many years of remaining useful life and there are better ways for the MUD #12 to spend their tax generated dollars and that the new monuments would no longer match the design and materials of some of the other monuments in Cinco Ranch.
We should all appreciate MUD #12 for their interest in the community at large. Funding of this $1,200,000 project is not finalized, but Cinco MUD #12 plans to cover much of the cost from the sales taxes they receive from commercial areas in that district. Your CR Residential Association has not been asked to contribute to this project.
Residents, this is your opportunity to provide input. Please choose an answer for the two questions below and add any comments in the space provided.
